My 2001 Honda CR-V unexpectedly developed transmission problems that prevented it from moving forward or backward. My mechanic recommended Precision for an assessment. My vehicle was towed to the facility. Within hours of receipt, Mr. Pat contacted me and gave me all of the details of the inspection. A complete rebuild was suggested. Unfortunately, based on cost of repairs, which was very reasonable, and age of vehicle, I opted not to have the rebuild done. Even though I did not have work done, I sincerely appreciated Mr. Pat's experienced explanation and professional counsel regarding all options. There was no 'hard sell' or pressure to have the repairs made at his shop. He gave me options and worked with me. All of Mr. Pat's valuable assistance and honesty indicated to me that Mr. Pat treats his potential customers with respect and concern. Precision Transmission Exchange is a business run with integrity and fairness. If my next vehicle ever has a transmission issue, you'd better believe that I'm calling Mr. Pat and Precision Transmission Exchange. Thanks, Joe D.

I made an appointment with Pat at precision transmission for a rebuild of my turbo 350 transmission on my 1973 Cutlass Supreme. This shop came highly recommended, and they did not disappoint. They did a great job, on time and a more than a fair price. I don't just trust my vehicle to anyone. This shop delivered. The shop is clean and orderly and the owner and staff are courteous and very professional. I highly recommend. Good job guys.

Pat and his crew do an excellent job on transmission repairs. They are always professional, courteous and prompt with their service and repair work. I have been a customer for over twenty years, and I would not go any where else for transmission service. I drive an hour out of my way just to go to Precision. Their work is fantastic.

If your transmission is slipping, what are your options? As you’ve seen, a variety of issues can cause a transmission to slip. Likewise, repairs differ widely depending on the issue. Here are some steps you should take to make sure your repair is as simple and cost-effective as possible.

Transmission slippage can be caused by a variety of factors that are sometimes difficult to pin down. From Precision Transmission Exchange, Inc. in Kenner, LA, here’s a rundown of the more common issues that may cause a transmission to slip.

Worn/Burnt Clutches - Your truck’s transmission is packed with clutches that allow it to engage or disengage. If they’ve become worn or damaged, they won’t work properly, and your transmission will slip. Typically, there are other issues at hand that result in damaged clutches, and the clutches themselves require the entire transmission to be broken down in order for them to be replaced. Most of the time, a rebuild or replacement will be in order.
